Heat wave warning for nine Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) today issued heat wave warning in nine districts of Odisha as the maximum day temperatures in these districts might go above 45 degree Celsius in the next few days.

The weather warning was issued for three days from today are Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundergarh and Balangir, the met centre said.

It also predicted that the heat wave conditions would prevail at some places over the districts in the interior Odisha during the next three days.

The day temperature at some places in the state has gone above 45 degree Celsius giving people a tough time.

Western Odisha continued to reel under intense heat wave conditions as Titlagarh in Balangir district recorded 46.5 degree Celsius yesterday.

The Western Odisha town was the hottest place in the state for the last two days.
