Heat wave in western Odisha to continue for three more days

The gruelling heat wave in western and interior Odisha would continue over the next 72 hours, the local Met office said in a release here this evening.

Sun  HeatHowever, it also said there is a possibility of rain or thundershower in the interior, north and south Odisha districts during the period and after June 11 the temperature would come down as the state is most likely to receive pre-monsoon rainfall.

It may be mentioned that the southwest monsoon is likely to hit Odisha by June 16.

Meanwhile, there has been no change in temperature in most parts of the western Odisha districts.

While Titlagarh remained the hottest place with 44 degree Celsius, temperature went up to 40 degree or more in Jharsuguda (41.5), Sambalpur (43.5), Hirakud (43), Talcher (41.5), Bhawanipatna (42.7), Bolangir (40), Malkangiri (40.2) and Sonepur (42).

Although temperature remained below 40 degree in the coastal districts, people experienced discomfort due to high humid conditions.
