Heavy rainfall likely in 11 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: With the onset of southwest monsoon that has covered entire Odisha, heavy rainfall is likely to lash many parts of the State today.

As many as 11 districts including Khordha and Cuttack may witness heavy downpour today till tomorrow morning.

According to Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre, heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha and Ganjam between June 21 and 22.

Along with heavy rain thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Puri and Ganjam during the period.

Besides, heavy rainfall is on the cards for several districts in upcoming days. The MeT issued yellow warning of heavy rain till June 26.

June 22-23: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj.

June 23-24: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

June 24-25: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack

June 25-26: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam.
