Heavy Rainfall: Red Warning issued for 5 Odisha dists, Orange for 8

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued Red Warning for five districts of Odisha in view of the low pressure area over north interior Odisha.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely to occur over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Sundargarh and Deogarh today, the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Red Warning for the districts.

Waterlogging and flash flood in some places, damage to kutcha roads and kutcha houses, and landslides in hilly areas will be the likely impact of the heavy downpour, it said.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj today, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Orange Warning for the districts.
