Rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places over Odisha while heavy rains may be experienced at one or two places in coastal Odisha in the next 24 hours, the meteorological office said here this afternoon.

Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood lay over Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal at 0830 hours IST today, a Met centre bulletin released shortly after noon said.

Under its impact, gusty surface wind speed reaching 25 to 30 kmph with gusting to 40 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, the bulletin said advising fishermen to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
