Heavy rains in north Odisha in next 24 hours

Bhubaneswar, Aug 9:

Rain or thundershower would occur at most places over  North Odisha and at a few places over South Odisha during the next 24 hours, the Meteorology centre said this afternoon.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over North Odisha during this period, it said.

Gusty surface wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph may prevail along and off the Odisha Coast, the Met bulletin released at 12.30 pm said.

Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into sea.

Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed over the same region at 0830 hours IST today, the bulletin said.
