Heavy rains trigger flood-like situation on Grand Road in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Torrential rains created a deluge-like situation at the Grand Road in Odisha’s Puri today.

According to reports, water above 2 feet was flowing on the famous Grand Road in the pilgrim city leaving hundreds of tourists stranded.

The stretch from Market Square to Medical Square was completely submerged due to heavy rains. Water also entered into engines of several vehicles parked at Grand Road.

Drainwater overflowed from the choked drains and submerged the entire stretch creating a hygienic condition in the holy town.

Rain water also entered into several stalls and restaurants causing problem for many people.

Meanwhile, the regional Meteorological office has predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash several parts in southern and northern parts of Odisha in as many as nine districts in the next couple of days.
