Bhubaneswar: Of the 79 fresh COVID-19 positive cases reported in Odisha this morning, 71 were lodged in different quarantine centres following their return from various states like Gujarat, West Bengal and Maharashtra. And, the remaining eight patients were local cases, informed Health and Family Welfare Department.
The fresh cases are from Ganjam (5), Jajpur (2), Balasore (4), Khordha (4), Puri (4), Cuttack (16), Kendrapara (6), Nayagarh (3), Balangir (14), Angul (1), Keonjhar (8), Kandhamal (7), Dhenkanal (3), Jharsuguda (1) and Sonepur (1).

With this, the number of active cases in the state surged to 861 while the number of recovered patients now stands at 649. So far, seven persons have died due to the respiratory disease in the state.
