Here’s the revised policy for hospitals during 48-hr complete shutdown

Bhubaneswar: After announcing a 48-hour complete shutdown in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and Bhadrak town starting 8 pm today, the Odisha Government issued new shutdown policy for hospitals to operate in these crucial hours.

The Government announced the complete shutdown in apprehension of community spread of the virus since the fifth COVID-19 patient who has no domestic and international travel history.

As per the policy:

1. All passes that were earlier issued to the hospitals and their staffs will remain valid. Unless emergency situation arises, all the OPDs will remain closed.

2. The hospitals and clinics have been asked to provide tele-medicine support.

3.Ambulance services will continue for emergency patients. Government hospitals will provide 108 services. In case of private hospitals, ambulances can be booked over phone calls to the respective centres.

4.Patients with scheduled dialysis or other medical procedures will be allowed for their routine.

5.All pharmacies attached to the hospitals and some pharmacies vouched by local authorities will remain open.

6. Un-obstructed access shall be given to 102 and other ambulance services on road.
