Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed the highest spike of 4340 COVID-19 in t he last 24 hours. With this, the state’s total count surged to 1,96,888.
Of the total fresh cases detected from 30 districts, 2517 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1823 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.
Khordha recorded highest 653 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (567) and Puri (203). Total 17 districts recorded over 100 positive cases in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 38,818. However, 1,57,265 patients have recovered in the state so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that total 50,570 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 29,56, 301 tests have been conducted in the state.
