Horrific: Odisha man kills father, buries body inside house

Bhawanipatna: A nondescript village in Odisha’s tribal-dominated Kalahandi district is in a state of shock after a missing villager’s body was traced to his house buried inside.

The villagers are in a state of disbelief that altercation between father-son duo could lead to such disastrous end.

The deceased identified as Jagannath Bag (65) has allegedly been murdered by his 35-year-old son Nabhidatya Bag on January 3, the body of which was recovered today.

The gruesome incident took place at Badagunduri village under Narla police limits in the district.

As per police, Nabhidatya bludgeoned his father to death after squabble with him.

“We have nabbed the accused who was on the run after getting to know that police have reached his home for investigation,” a police official said.

Acting on the complaint of deceased’s daughter, police began probe into the incident. As part of the investigation, the personnel visited the deceased’s house where they recovered the highly decomposed body buried under the earth inside a locked room.

Sources said, the accused killed his father and buried the body inside a room. After doing the coverup to destroy evidence, he locked the room. When his sister asked about his father or unlock the room, he used to shout at her.

After finding no trace of her father, Bag’s daughter filed a missing complaint with the local police.
