Horror continues! Man held for raping minor niece in Odisha

Paralakhemundi: In yet another shocking incident, a minor girl has allegedly been raped in Odisha’s Gajapati district and the accused has been held over two months after the incident.

A 14-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by her uncle at Ghorani village under Gurandi police station limits in Goshani block of the district on February 21 night.

While the victim’s parents work as labourers in Chennai, the minor girl stays with her grandmother and sister at Ghorani.

The accused identified as Kishore Kumar Roul alias Kusha broke into the victim’s house and raped her. Thereafter, he threatened the girl of dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone, police said.

After few days of the incident, the victim shared her ordeal owing which her parents filed a complaint with the local police on March 2.

Since the incident, the accused had fled to Hyderabad.

Based on complaints, the accused has been arrested and further investigation is on into the incident, Paralakhemundi SDPO Thakur Prasad Patra told media today.
