Huge cache of ganja seized near check gate in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: Excise Department officials today seized around 120 kg of ganja worth Rs 15 lakh from a car near a check gate at Manguli Chhak in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

The contraband was found inside the car when sleuths of Intelligence wing of Excise Department were conducting vehicle checking at the check gate.

Police have arrested two persons, including a woman, in this connection. They have been identified as Kokan Bhandari and Tokiya Khatun.

The cannabis was being carried in the car from Phulbani to West Bengal. The vehicle has also been seized.

Involvement of a racket in the illegal activity has come to fore and investigation is on to unearth further details in this regard, police sources said.
