Human skulls found inside mutt in Odisha’s Puri

Puri, Feb 8:

The Town Police found three human skulls inside the premises of a mutt near Shri Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri town on Saturday.

skullAccording to reports, three human skulls were found in the garbage of a vegetable market inside the Uttaraparshwa mutt premises on the north side of the temple in the morning.

Following information, Town Police rushed to the spot and seized the skulls in the presence of a local magistrate.

As informed by the Town Police IIC Dayanidhi Nayak, the seized skulls would be sent to the Forensic Laboratory in Bhubaneswar for DNA test.

“Police have registered an unnatural death (U/D) case and begun investigation with the help of a scientific team,” Nayak said.

Police suspect that since the three seized skulls are very old, these might have been dumped by a person after performing occult practices.

It may be mentioned that 21 human skulls, three animal skulls, bones and skeletons under a bridge on Kushabhadra river at Liakhia on the Puri-Konark marine drive in Odisha on November 23 last year.
