Hyundai Motor India’s July sales up 5 percent

Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Saturday reported a 5 percent rise in sales in July to 50,408 units – up from 48,014 units sold in the corresponding month of 2014.

hyundai-logo“The tremendous response for the Creta, i20 Active and Elite i20 showcases customers increasing preference and early adoption for game changer products offering novelty value in style, first in segment features and strong after sale assurances,” said Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president for sales and marketing, HMIL.

According to Srivastava, the company’s new age product portfolio led by the recently launched global SUV (sports utility vehicle) Creta sustained the domestic growth momentum.

HMIL had launched its newest SUV Creta in India on July 21 priced ranging from Rs.8.59 lakh to Rs.13.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The company’s domestic market sales last month rose 24.7 percent to 36,500 units sold from an off-take of 29,275 units during July, 2014.

However, the largest passenger car exporter in the country’s sales abroad fell in the month under review.

The company only managed to ship-out 13,908 units in July, 2015, which is a decline of 25.8 percent from 18,739 units being sold abroad in the corresponding month of the previous year. (IANS)
