I admire Virat Kohli but he fights a lot: BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly said that he is a great admirer of Virat Kohli but conceded that the latter ‘fights a lot’.

Kohli triggered a major controversy in Indian cricket by contradicting Ganguly’s comments. Ganguly had claimed that he had personally asked Kohli to not quit as India’s T20I skipper but the Delhi batter refuted those claims in a recent press conference.

In an event in Gurgaon recently, Ganguly was asked which Team India cricketer’s attitude he admires the most. In response, Ganguly said: “I like Virat Kohli’s attitude but he fights a lot.”

Despite the controversy, Kohli will lead India’s Test side in the upcoming 3-match series against South Africa, the first of which will commence from December 26 in Centurion.

On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video of Team India being escorted in two buses by police vehicles to SuperSport Park, where they were seen being led by coach Rahul Dravid and Kohli onto the ground on Saturday.
