I’ll look into your issues, Naveen tells Bengali community

Malkangiri: BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today assured Bengali residents in Kalimela of Malkangiri district to take up issues faced by them into serious consideration.

Addressing his third election rally in Kalimela, Patnaik said he is aware of the problems faced by Bengali refugees in the Maoist-hit region and he will take the same into serious consideration.

The BJD Chief again went on attacking the BJP Government at the Centre alleging the latter’s apathetic attitude towards Odisha.

He alleged that no leaders from the Centre visited the State during natural calamities, including cyclones and floods in the past. But now many BJP leaders are frequently turning up in the the State seeking votes ahead of the elections, Patnaik said.

He further attacked the Centre over Polavaram issue alleging that despite repeated appeals the latter has not taken any step to stop the multi-crore ‘anti-Odisha’ project.

“The Centre has stopped funding under Koraput-Balangir-Kalahandi (KBK) programme and also discontinued the scholarship scheme meant for ST/SC students. The saffron party leaders are only shedding crocodile tears and nothing else,” Patnaik added.

Stating that he has been and will always remain for the 4.5 crore people in the State, the BJD chief sought their blessings and called upon them to vote for the party.

The CM will also campaign for the party candidates in Pottangi, Jeypore and Laxmipur later in the day.
