IIT-Bhubaneswar in Odisha invites applications for PhD programme

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar in Odisha has invited applications for admissions to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree course for Basic Sciences and Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences programmes for the session 2014.

The aforesaid programmes are offered by the School of Basic Sciences, School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences, School of Electrical Sciences, School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management and School of Mechanical Sciences.

Candidates applying for Ph.D in Basic Sciences programme should either have at lIIT_bhubaneswareast 60 percent marks in the Masters programme or a valid GATE score or UGC-CSIR-NET (with JRF)/Inspire Fellowship in the relevant field.

For Ph.D in Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences programme, the candidates should have at least 60 percent marks in the in MSc/ M.Tech in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Marine Science/ Earth Science/ Mechanical/ Civil/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing/ Computer Science or a valid GATE score or UGC-CSIR-NET (with JRF)/ inspire fellowship in the relevant field. Mathematics at UG level is compulsory for Climate Science.

Interested candidates will have to log in to the official website of IIT, Bhubaneswar www.iitbbs.ac.in and fill in the form online and later download and send a hard copy of the form to the Assistant Registrar (Academic Affairs) Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Toshali Bhawan, Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar – 751 007 by October 15.

The candidates are required to pay the application fee of Rs 500 in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of IIT Bhubaneswar on any nationalised bank payable at Bhubaneswar.

However, candidates belonging to reserved category are required to pay an amount of Rs 250 only.
