Bhubaneswar, Sept-20:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar is going to organise ‘Prayatna,’ the three-day yearly edition of its annual socio-cultural festival ‘Alma Fiesta-2014’ from January 10 next year.

The event is an endeavour of IIT Bhubaneswar to spread social awareness by merging it with the youth spirit. This edition of Alma Fiesta would be organised in association with Souls for Solace, a social help group of IIT Bhubaneswar.

It is a social campaign to inculcate a sense of social responsibility among the bright minds of the 21st century. The movement aims to encourage and support the use of green ideas and technologies in everyday life, organisers of the premier institute here said.

As per the program, teams from Alma Fiesta-14 would visit schools in and around Bhubaneswar and deliver presentations to students of Class XI and X with an aim to make the students aware of the alarming state of the nature and how small changes today can lead to huge changes tomorrow.

Later, the students would be given a week’s time to submit an essay on innovative green ideas, which would give them a chance to express their thoughts and provide them a platform to explore the innovative thoughts that they come across in everyday life.
