IMD Odisha workshop on severe weather events on July 8

To create awareness among the user agencies especially the media about different types of weather information including day-to-day forecasts and limitations and uncertainties in the science of weather forecasting, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) will organise a users’ meet related to ‘severe weather events’ at Pantha Nivas in Odisha’s capital city on July 8..

Different users of the IMD information service including the electronic and print media have  been invited to the workshop.

“The workshop would provide an opportunity to understand the requirement of the user agencies including the media for improvement in the public weather services”, said Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, director Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar in a release.
