IMD predicts rain at many places of Odisha for next 4 days

Bhubaneswar: Many places in Odisha are likely to witness rain or thundershower for the next four days, predicted the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here today.

As per the prediction, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha on September 5.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning of heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada for the day. Similarly, it predicted thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Balasore on September 5.

The MeT department has predicated light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places over the districts of Odisha on September 6. It has issued a yellow warning of heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh for the day.

Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at many places in the state on September 7, said the IMD in its forecast. As per the prediction one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal are likely to witness heavy rainfall on the day.

According to the IMD forecast, many places over the districts of South Odisha and North Odisha are likely to witness light to moderate rain or thundershower on September 8. A yellow warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur for the day.
