IMD predicts rainfall for two more days in these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today predicted rainfall for two more districts in many places in Odisha.

The thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar , Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Nayagarh from today afternoon till tomorrow morning, said a weather bulletin released by Bhubaneswar MeT today.

In the meantime, the dense fog may cover one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur and Kalahandi on these above said days.

However, there will be no large change in night temperature during next 24 hours and it is likely to fall by 3-4 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts.

With continuous rain across coastal and interior parts of the state since a past few days, the cold wave condition may return to the state in upcoming days.

According to the regional meteorological centre, cold wave condition very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Sonepur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore and dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak and Cuttack between Feb 9 and 10.

The yellow warning has also been issued for many districts that may witness chilly weather and poor visibility on Feb 10 and 11.

The cold wave condition very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Sundargarh, Balangir, Balasore and Mayurbhanj between Feb 10 and 11. The dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput on the same days.

The weather is likely to be dry in all the districts from Feb 11.
