Impostor ‘army man’ arrested for duping youth

Baidyanathpur police Tuesday nabbed a person for impersonating an Army officer and duping several youths of about Rs 19 lakh after promising them jobs in the Army and police.
Police said M Kishor Chandra (20) of Digapahandi, posing as an Army officer, allegedly collected money from unemployed youth promising them jobs.
Police has also seized several fake documents, laptops and mobile phone handsets from Chandra, it said.
A complaint by one A Swarup Kumar of Hatipadu to the police that he and four of his friends had been duped of about Rs 19 lakh by Chandra on November 27 last year brought the matter to light.
Chandra was arrested from Digaphandi and the case is under investigation, said Deepak Mishra, IIC Baidyanathpur police station.
