India-NZ T20 match not to be held at Odisha’s Barabati. Know why

Cuttack: Hopes of cricket fans across Odisha to witness an action-packed international cricket match at Barabati stadium here dashed as the T20 match between India and New Zealand proposed to be held at the venue on November 4 is going to get cancelled.

In a letter to the BCCI, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has said that it is not possible to host the match at the stadium on the proposed date as Bali Jatra begins on the very day in Cuttack.

The OCA has requested the BCCI to consider chances of an India-Sri Lanka match at Barabati stadium on a different date, informed OCA’s working committee chairman Dhiren Palei.
