India’s Omicron tally crosses 1000 mark

Bhubaneswar: With steep rise in Omicron cases across India, country’s tally crossed 1000 mark with 309 fresh cases of new COVID variant in last 24 hours.

With new Omicron cases, total number reached 1,270, according to the data revealed by Union Ministry of Health on Friday.

A total of 16,156 new COVID infections were reported in the country in a span of 24 hours today, of which 309 were Omicron cases.

The total 1,270 cases were detected across 23 States and Union Territories so far, of which, 374 infectees have recovered or migrated.

According to data updated by the Union Health Ministry, the highest of 450 Omicron cases were found in Maharashtra followed by Delhi with 320 cases and Kerala with 109 cases.

The Omicron cases in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu were Karnataka are 97, 69, 62, 46, and 34 respectively. Haryana and Odisha registered 14 each Omicron cases so far.
