There is good news for air travellers in Odisha. Indigo Airlines will launch two new flights between Kolkata and Bhubaneswar and between Kolkata to Mumbai via Bhubaneswar from April 15.
As per the schedule, the flight would leave Kolkata at 3 PM and arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 4 PM. It would leave Bhubaneswar at 4.30 PM and arrive at Kolkata at 5.30 PM.
Another flight would leave Kolkata at 7.30 PM and arrive at Bhubaneswar at 8.30 PM. The flight would leave Bhubaneswar for Mumbai at 9 PM.
“We are trying to cater to the requirements of the passengers. We need 20 percent growth in the passengers’ traffic. There was a long-standing demand from passengers to resume the afternoon flight from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata,” Sharad Kumar, director, Biju Patnaik International Airport, told the media here.
At present, Indigo, Air India and GoAir Airlines are providing flight services from Bhubaneswar to nine cities of the county.
More flights from Kolkata to Mumbai via Bhubaneswar would be of great help, said passengers at the city airport here.
