Intake capacity of Odisha’s NISER increased by 40

Bhubaneswar: The student intake capacity at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) situated on the outskirts of Odisha capital has been increased by 40 from this academic session taking the total number of seats to 170.

A day after the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2017 result was declared; the authorities announced this here today.

As many as 16,093 students from Odisha had appeared the entrance test on May 27. The exam was conducted at 123 centres in 59 cities across the country where around 68,000 candidates had sat for the entrance test.

As many as 2578 students have cleared the tough test where Benaras boy Shibam Kumar has topped the examination. The students from Odisha have once again brought laurels for the state as three students are placed in top 20.

While Arsiman Panigrahi secured 10th position, Ashutosh Dash bagged 14th and Gurukalyan Jaysingh placed at 17th rank. Students can check their results online at www.nestexam.in

Counselling for 5-year integrated MSc programme, in basic sciences – biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics, will commence from July 7.
