Inter-state ATM looters’ gang busted in Odisha; 3 arrested

Jajpur: Busting an inter-state gang of ATM looters, the Jajpur Town police arrested three members of the gang today. The cops also seized Rs 15,000 cash, three ATM cards, a car, a motorcycle and four mobiles from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off, Jajpur Town police with the help Sadar police jointly conducted a raid and nabbed the three accused while they were planning for another loot.

Jajpur SDPO Prashant Kumar Malla said the three looters are involved in 30 ATM loots in various districts in Odisha and outside the State.

He said the three looters identified as Balaram Sahu (28) of Jamara village and Sanjeev Mandal of Nischintakoili village in Cuttack district and Sarbeswar Bal of Barimula village in Kendrapara district are involved in 30 ATM loot incidents in Jajpur Sadar, Kuakhia, Baripada, Olatpur, Athagarh, Banki, Lathikata,Jajpur Town, Chandapur, Fategarh,Nayagarh and Odagaon.

“Mostly senior citizens and gullible customers have been the victims of this looters’ gang,” said Malla.
