Interim report in 2 months: Odisha chit fund panel head

The one-man Commission of Inquiry of Justice MM Das on the chit fund scam will submit its interim report to the Odisha government within two months.

Informing this to the media today, Justice Das said the process for refund of money to the small investors is on.

“The Commission, on a priority basis, has formed a list of small investors who have deposited a maximum of Rs 10,000 in the accounts of chit fund companies. Scanning of a total of 5.59 lakh out of the applications received by the Commission so far has been completed of which data entry of 72,000 applications and review of 26,976 applications have been completed. Till now, the Commission has identified 2552 small investors who have deposited money in the account of Seashore Group of Companies while identification of small investors of Artha Tatwa is underway. After the identification of these small investors, the Commission would be able to submit its interim report to the state government within two months,” said Justice Das.
