I&PR staff in Odisha Vig dragnet for receiving bribe from journo

Vigilance sleuths today arrested Odisha Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department’s Section Officer Durgaprasad Mohanty for allegedly receiving bribe of Rs 30,000 from a journalist.

According to reports, Mohanty had demanded the bribe from Uday Kumar Sahoo, editor of an Odia monthly news magazine, for empanelling it in advertising list of the department which releases government advertisements to media houses.

Sahoo reported the matter to Vigilance following which a trap was laid and the official was caught red handed while accepting the amount.
