IRB Jawan found dead in canal in Odisha

Bhawanipatna: A Jawan of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) was found dead in a canal on Nandol-Kendupati road under Junagarh police limits in Kalahandi district today.

The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Mangaraj, a resident of Golamunda area.

Sources said Mangaraj was posted at IRB camp in Jaring. Last evening, he was returning to his house after taking a leave. It is suspected that while the Jawan was driving, his motorcycle skidded off the road and fell into the canal leading to his death.

Finding his body floating in the water body this morning, some locals called up police. Later, the cops reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
