According to reports, the team comprising DIG Lata Manoj Kumar, DSP MK Pathak, Inspector DB Mitrawala and constable Narendra Kumar arrived at the district headquarters town on Wednesday.
Besides, a four-member scientific team is scheduled to arrive at Rayagada town later in the day to assist the CBI officials in their investigation.
Prior to the arrival of the scientific team, the CBI officials would conduct the lie detection test on those it had interrogated earlier.
The central investigating agency, till its seventh phase probe, has interrogated about 90 persons. It is likely to arrest some of them during its eighth phase probe, sources said.
It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court had asked the CBI to submit Itishree murder case report in three months by August 4 this year.
Acting on the directive of the apex court, the CBI had submitted details of the progress made in its investigations to the court on the scheduled date in a sealed envelope while praying to the court for six months’ time to complete its investigations.
The court, however, directed the CBI to complete its investigations within three months and nab the culprits in the case.
