Jajpur Municipality’s frontline health worker dies of COVID-19

Jajpur: A frontline health worker of Jajpur Municipality engaged in containment of COVID-19 infections succumbed to the deadly virus, informed the civic body today.

Lokesh Panda was deployed as a COVID warrior to monitor all the COVID care centres within Jajpur Municipality during COVID-19 pandemic. He was assigned to visit COVID-19 positive patients at their homes in Jajpur town.

He will be given the Guard of Honour at 3.00 pm at Baruni Crematorium today, official source said.

Earlier, Panda, the resident of Sasanpada area under Binjharpur Block was engaged as a health worker in Binjharpur. Acknowledging his efficiency, he was deployed as the COVID warrior in Jajpur Municipality.

The health and district administration condoled the death of the frontline health worker, who passed away due to COVID-19.
