Jajpur’s Brahmabarada sealed after detection of 1st COVID-19 positive case

Jajpur: After Jajpur district reported the first COVID-19 positive case yesterday, the administration today sealed the entire Brahmabarada area to prevent spread of the deadly virus.

After the announcement,  Rasulpur Tehsildar, Kuakhia police along with administrative officials visited Brahmabarada area to take stock of the shutdown enforcement.  Besides, fire personnel were deployed to disinfect public places and establishments.

This apart, all shops, including vegetable and grocery stores have remained shut due to the shutdown, said Collector Collector Ranjan Kumar Dash.

Worth mentioning,  a person of Brahmabarada area under Rasulpur block in the district with link to Tablighi Jamaat meet tested positive for coronavirus yesterday. He was later sent to COVID-19 centre at Aswini Hospital in Cuttack. However, further efforts are underway to identify other persons who had come in contact with him after he returned  from Delhi last month.
