Japanese Encephalitis claims two more lives; toll reaches 76 in Odisha

Malkangiri, Oct 29:

Japanese Encephalitis (JE) claimed lives of two more children in Odisha’s Malkangiri today taking the death toll in the vector-borne disese to 76 in the district.

The deceased were identified as Bhima Madhi (5) of Gouriguda village and Mamata Madhi (1) of Buduriguda village under Korkonda block in the district.

While Bhima died during treatment at Kalimela community health centre, Mamata succumbed to the disese at the ICU of the District Headquarters Hospital here.

On the other hand, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is scheduled to visit Malkangiri on November 4 to review JE situation in the district.
