Jatin Das among winners of Odisha govt’s Dharmapada award

Veteran artists Jatin Das, Dinanath Pathy and Asim Basu were among the seven eminent artists nominated for the prestigious Dharmapada awards from 2009 to 2015.

This was announced by Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda at the State Secretariat here today.

The award, instituted by the Lalit Kala Akademi, carries a cash award of Rs 1 lakh, a shawl and a citation.

The names of the seven artists chosen by the Culture department and and the year of their selection are as follows:

2009: Golakh Bihari Patnaik
2010: Asim Basu
2011: Durga Prasad Das
2012: Sudarshan Sahu
2013: Jatin Das
2014: Dinanath Pathi
2015: Raghunath Mohapatra.
