Javadekar mocks Odisha Chief Minister for inability to speak Odia

Senior BJP leader and Information and Broadcasting (IB) minister Prakash Javadekar today mocked the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his inability to speak Odia, the language of the state.
“I can understand Odia because it is an Indian language. Bu, your Chief Minister is yet to learn Odia even 15 years after ruling the State. He reads from a script,” said a sarcastic Javadekar addressing party men here.
Javadekar said this while talking about the early functioning of FM Radio Station at Sambalpur which was aired in Sambalpuri dialect.
The IB Minister aksed for 15 days’ time to take a call on the memorandum submitted by Suresh Pujari, former State President, Odisha and National Executive Member, BJP seeking early functioning of the 5 KW FM Transmitter at All India Radio, Sambalpur for the benefit of the people of this region.
In the memorandum, Pujari had said a functional of FM Radio station in the district was a long standing demand of the people in the area.
The memorandum noted that the pace of the Civil and Electrical work for installation of FM Transmitter at the Doordarshan Kendra site, Sambalpur, which started one and half years back, had been extremely tardy.
Responding to a query by media persons on the chit fund and mining scams in the state, the Union Minister said proper investigation would be done to unearth the truth behind the scams.
“Proper and impartial investigation will be carried out in chit fund and mining scams in Odisha. The CBI is investigating the chit fund scam. I hope the truth will come out,” said Javadekar.
It is a shame that our chief minister cannot speak Odia, the mother tongue of the people in Odisha. If CM offers me the teaching fee, I am ready to be his ODIA teacher. Then, I am sure, he will pass the language test.
