Five teams of the Odisha vigilance today conducted simultaneous raids at five places including the office and residence of Satyanarayan Panigrahi, junior engineer (JE) Lift Irrigation department, Tusra in Bolangir district on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Vigilance today raided Panigrahi’s residence and office at Tusra, residence of his two brothers and his in-law’s place. The officials have seized gold ornaments, important documents and some amount of cash during the raids, sources said.

“We have conducted raids on Panigrahi’s office, residence and houses of his relatives on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. It has come to our knowledge that he has purchased some plots of land in Patnagarh area. He has purchased around 40 plots in the area,” informed Rabi Narayan Patra, DSP Vigilance (Bargarh division).
