JEE Main exams on April 4; no clarity over Odisha JEE

With the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announcing the date for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main on April 4 next year for engineering and architecture streams, the students of Odisha are in a state of uncertainty as the state government is yet to decide on whether the admission of the students would be made in different engineering colleges in the state through JEE Mains or the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination OJEE).

JEE-logo-eduMeanwhile, sources in the department of Employment Training and Technical Education and Training said a decision will be taken at the policy planning board (PPB) on November 7 on whether to conduct OJEE from this year or not.

“The department will later submit the outcome of the proposal, taken at the meeting, to the chief minister and the final decision taken in this regard, would be made known to the students immediately. The department, therefore, has urged the students to wait for the decision before applying for the examination”, said a senior official of the department.

As per the CBSE notification, the JEE Main offline examination for engineering stream would be held on April 4 between 9.30 AM and 12.30 PM while for architecture stream, it will be from 2 PM to 5 PM.

The online JEE Main examination would be held on April 10 and 11.

The students have to apply and deposit their examination fee online through JEE website www.jeemain.nic.in

The date of application would begin from November 7 and continue till December 18.

Besides, for admission in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), students, who have qualified JEE Mains, will appear at the JEE Advance examination on May 24 for which they have to register their names between May 5 and 7.

The students can download their admit cards from the aforesaid JEE website on May 9.

The results of the examination would be announced on June 18.
