It is also closely working with corporates and industrial houses to install these modular toilets in government schools for girls.

Expalining the need for these toilets, Anuj Jain, CEO of Jindal Architecture said, “India and its poor sanitation conditions is known across the world. It’s shocking to know that nearly half-a-billion Indians – or 48% of the population, lack access to basic sanitation and defecate in the open. What makes it worse is that lack of toilets makes women, especially in villages, vulnerable to sexual assaults.”

“We hope  that our new modular toilets, will play an important role in contributing towards the “The Swachh Bharat” programme, we hope to see them being installed in every possible nook and corner of the country, as they promise to offer a long term and a hygienic solution  to the sanitation needs of the country,” he added.

It may be noted that, JSL Architecture is already the pioneer and an industry leader in providing stainless steel toilets with drop down retention tanks in the railway coaches. The purpose of the tanks is to convert human waste into gases and water with the help of a special bacteria developed by DRDE, which survives on human waste.

These 100 per cent recyclable toilets are made up of 100% stainless steel with PVD coated interiors, completely modular in design, which makes them easier to be knocked down and allows for easy assembly at a site in minimum time, thus saving on transportation cost.
