The Baseball Association of Odisha  (BAO) would host the 25^th Junior National Baseball Championship that would kick off at the Satyabrata Stadium here on March 27.

This was announced by the BAO secretary Shibananda Pradhan at a press briefing held at the conference hall of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) inside Barabati Stadium here this evening.

About 1000 players in the boys and girls groups from 25 states would participate in the five-day event that would conclude on March 31.

Out of an estimated budget of Rs 8.5 lakh earmarked for the tournament, the ministry of Sports and Youth affairs would contribute Rs 4 lakh while the rest of the amount would be arranged by the Odisha government, the donors and sponsors, Pradhan said.

A coaching camp conducted by the BAO  for the selection of the state players for the tournament is currently underway, he said.
