Tamil Nadu and Meghalaya won their quarterfinal matches in the ongoing Junior National Women’s Football Championship here on Friday.

In a well-contested match at the Police ground, Tamil Nadu defeated Bihar by a solitary goal scored by K Vijaya Kumari in the 55^th minute.

In another match at the Barabati stadium, Meghalaya defeated Maharashtra 4-3 in a thrilling encounter.

Meghalaya took the early lead when R Shulet scored two goals in the 9^th and 41^st minutes while her team mate, Solina Jaba and Batbitbha Bareh scored one goal each in the 48^th and 85^th minutes.

Though Maharashtra came back strongly scoring three goals in 10 minutes, they failed to level the score.

For Maharashtra, Komal Devkule scored two goals while Zarashana Mistry scored one.
