Justice Bhabani Prasad Ray, who was transferred from the Kerala High Court a week ago, today joined the Odisha High Court after he was administered the oath of office at a function at the High Court premises here.
With Justice Ray's arrival, the total number of judges in the Odisha High Court has gone up to 17.
Born on March 2, 1955, Justice Ray obtained a degree in Law from Utkal University Law College in Bhubaneswar.
He started his practice in 1979 in constitutional law, civil and criminal law and taxation law. He also served as additional standing counsel of Commercial Taxes for three years.
He was sworn in as additional judge of the Odisha High Court on November 7, 2007. Later, he was transferred to the Kerala High Court where he was sworn in as a judge on October 28, 2010.
