Justice Naidu probe panel arrives in Odisha’s Kandhamal

Justice AS Naidu Commission of Inquiry, probing into the communal riot in Kandhamal district in August, 2008, arrived at the district headquarters here this evening on a four-day visit.

Justice AS NaiduAccording to official sources, the Commission, in its last visit to the district, would record the statement of five witnesses—Bikram Digal of Dungori village, Duryodhan Pradhan of Raikola village, Aman Pradhan and Rabindra Pradhan of Bondaguda village and Mansingh Pradhan of Penagaberi village.

Sources in the Commission however, said Mansingh cannot depose as he is suffering from paralysis.

The Commission is scheduled to visit Chakapada Ashram and later leave the district after a meeting with senior district officials.
