Kangana Ranaut summoned by Delhi Assembly panel for ‘obnoxious and derogatory’ remarks on Sikhs

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by the Delhi Assembly’s panel on peace and harmony for her crass remarks on Sikhs.

According to reports, the actress will appear before the committee chaired by Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha on December 6 for her ‘obnoxious and derogatory remarks on Sikhs’.

Ranaut’s troubles do not end there. The actress also faces an FIR in Mumbai filed by Sikhs for her comments.

The FIR was filed by leaders of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and the Shiromani Akali Dal who allege that Ranaut ‘intentionally and deliberately’ tried to show the farmers protest as a ‘Khalistani’ movement and called the farmers ‘Khalistani terrorists’.

“Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today… But let’s not forget one woman… The only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke neeche crush kiya tha (the only woman PM who crushed them under her shoes). No matter how much suffering she caused to this nation… she crushed them like mosquitoes at the cost of her own life… Lekin desh k tukde nahi hone diye (but she did not let the nation get divided),” wrote Ranaut on social media, hinting at former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards.
