KIIT to provide jobs, free education to kin of Odisha train accident victims

Bhubaneswar: In a noble gesture, the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) here today announced that it will provide jobs and free education to the family members of the Balasore train accident victims.

Making an announcement in this regard at a press conference in the city, Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), said the organization will give job to one of the family members of each deceased, who were from Odisha, in KIIT or KISS as per eligibility.

Similarly, KIIT and KISS will provide free education as per eligibility to those who have lost their parents in the train accident, if they express interest to avail it, said Samanta.

Notably, the train accident involving Coromandel Express, SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train at Bahanaga in Balasore district on June 2 has claimed at least 288 lives, including 39 from Odisha.
