Kishore Mohanty to head Western Odisha Development Council

Former Speaker of Odisha Assembly and defeated BJD candidate from Jharsuguda in the recent elections to the Assembly Kishore Kumar Mohanty was today appointed as the chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).

Mohanty’s appointment was approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, said official sources. Mohanty succeeds Padmini Shekhar Deo who had resigned from the chairmanship of WODC on June 16.

Deo had then said that she had resigned on Chief Minister NaveenPatnaik’s advice. Ms Deo had two more years left for her tenure to complete.
