Kunduli gang-rape victim discharged from hospital in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput:  The Kunduli gang-rape survivor, who was admitted to Jeypore Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH) in Odisha’s Koraput, was discharged today.

The 14-year-old was admitted to SDH after she complained of stomach pain just a day after she was discharged from Sahid LaxmanNayak Medical College and Hospital.

She was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) soon after her discharge from hospital.

Sources said she was not taken to her village cover some security issues.

Worth mentioning, the gang-rape survivor was discharged from Sahid Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput Friday.

Later on the same day, she deposed before the Koraput judicial magistrate first class to record her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC.

She was sent to a remand home as she refused to go back to her village demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

The class IX student said she had been gang-raped at gunpoint by four uniformed personnel inside the Lanjiguda forest on October 10 when she was on her way to school.
