Lady doctor thrashed by cop in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A woman doctor was allegedly thrashed by a police officer during helmet checking in front of a police station in Odisha’s Keonjhar district today.

The doctor has lodged a written complaint in this regard at Turumunga police station in the district.

The incident took place between 12 pm and 1 pm in front of Turumunga police station.

As per the available information, Sanjukta Giri, the Ayush doctor working at Singada Primary Health Centre in Mayurbhanj district, was allegedly abused and thrashed by Turumunga PS Assistant Sub-Inspector.

The ASI stopped Sanjukta who was on her way home in a two-wheeler and asked her to show her driving license and other documents. When she took time to get it from her vehicle, the cop allegedly hurled abuses and attacked her in full public view.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
