Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today raided the office and residences of Asit Kumar Nayak, a senior clerk at the office of Bhubaneswar RB Division-I on the allegation of acquisition and possession of  assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Separate teams of the anti-graft wing Bhubaneswar Division conducted simultaneous raids at five places associated with Nayak, a native of Kaithpalli village under Golanthara police limits in Ganjam  district.

On the strength of search warrant issued by Bhubaneswar Special Vigilance Judge, the officials searched his office and triple storied residential building in Dumduma here, a duplex and a plot at Pradhan Sahi in Jatni of Khordha, parental house at Kaithapalli and a flat in Berhampur of Ganjam district.

As per Vigilance sources, Nayak was found in possession of assets worth Rs 5.23 crore while further investigation was underway.
